We create an environment where researchers with diverse backgrounds learn to communicate and collaborate with each other. Our work takes advantage of methods and concepts from several disciplines, including theoretical ecology, confocal microscopy, evolutionary biology, and molecular genetics. Researchers with interest and training history in any of these or related areas are welcome to send correspondence about our work and about availabilities in the lab.

Post-Docs

Interested candidates should write by e-mail to discuss potential positions and funding opportunities.

Graduate Students

Students with a strong academic record and interest in our research areas are always welcome to write or visit the lab to discuss opportunities. There are two routes through which to join the group, the MCB graduate program, and the EEES graduate program (Ecology and Evolution Track). These two programs are different in their relative focus on molecular biology versus ecology/evolution, but within our group, all students will train in both disciplinary traditions with strong connections to the ecology/evolution, molecular biology, and microbiology research communities at Dartmouth College, the Geisel School of Medicine, and the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

Undergraduates

Students with laboratory experience and an interest in microbiology, bacterial genetics, ecology, and/or microbial evolution are encouraged to ask about working in the group for an honors thesis.
